 | 1st Nov 2008 to 30th Nov 2008 | Naff November
Mist and rain so typical of November. When the sun does shine and I have a day off co-inciding with celeb 60040 working 6V92 Corby - Margam it is 110 mins late and I catch the cloud after long periods of sun. Great! Obviously the best working of the month is Grids 56312/311 with new steel traffic run between Washwood Heath Met Cam and Immingham. Wonder if it will run long enough to get an image in the sun?
|
 | 1st Oct 2008 to 31st Oct 2008 | Oh its October already
Back to work unfortunately so not a lot of time for fotting except on wednesday which is my day off. Nice to see Pink 31601 out with a DBSO at Cossington. Also 20905 and 20901 with a working from Old Dalby rather capped the month
|
 | 1st Sep 2008 to 30th Sep 2008 | Silly September
Another mixed month of weather and workings in my neck of the woods. Another but last triple header of new Fastline hoppers being moved to Derby being the highlight, i guess.
|
 | 1st Aug 2008 to 31st Aug 2008 | August Again
A decent month for workings but oh that weather. It was a difficult month for getting sunny pics but there were occassions especially of 60074 which had a spell on the Ely - Peak Forest and 37's on Serco trains. The NR 97/3's made a nice picture and there were some interesting Power Car moves

 | 16th Jul 2008 | Power Car 43301 in CrossCountry Livery at Brush Traction
With the grateful thanks to CrossCountry Trains and Brush Traction, I publish a collection of images of Power Car formerly 43101 now re-numbered 43301 and in XC livery having been re-engineered by Brush over a period of 12 months.
The PC is seen on release date from Brush Traction and worked to Craigentinny with 43007 on a shakedown test before going straight into service on friday 18 July 2008.
Well done to all who worked on this project and of course there are still 4 more PC's to be completed for XC over the next number of weeks.

 | 1st Jul 2008 to 31st Jul 2008 | Jocular July
Holiday month for myself and some old faithful freights such as Corby steel and East Leake Gypsum trains. However still not bad with plenty of activity in and out of Brush Traction. Fastline 66's on coal, a quick trip to Yarmouth, and both blue tugs visited the Loughborough area. 2 CrossCountry Trains Power Cars in new livery after re-engineering were released from Brush Traction
|
 | 1st Jun 2008 to 30th Jun 2008 | Jazzy June
Here's hoping for some sun!! Well it wasn't too bad at times. Plenty of interesting workings during the month with the highlight being the testing of yellow NR Class 37's and the introduction of Fastline Class 66's on coal in place of the hired in DRS and GBRf loco's. A good sprinkling of Tugs on an assortment of duties

|
 | 1st Apr 2008 to 30th Apr 2008 | Attractive April
A change of jobs has given me less time to get out and about during the week. However, 2 good charter trains passed Cossington during the month with 40145 and a pair of EWS Class 37 loco's working respectively. Froth Tug 60074 also put in an appearance at the end of the month on the 6E38 Colnbrook - Lindsey empty bogie tanks

A few Advenza moves took place including scrap trains from Thomsons at Stockton to Cardiff Tidal Sdgs.

 | 1st Feb 2008 to 2nd Feb 2008 | Rail crash at Barrow Upon Soar, Leicestershire
The train driver of the 0619 Nottingham - Norwich service via Loughborough had to be cut free from his cab on Friday, 1 February 2008 after the service crashed into a footbridge, which had collapsed at Barrow Upon Soar when it was hit by a tipper truck. The 31-year-old train driver, who was trapped for two and half hours, suffered serious leg injuries but six passengers on the train were unhurt. The unit involved 158856 was later moved to Brush for temporary storage
On the following day, saturday, services were running normally on the slowline between Loughborough and Leicester whilst track repair work was carried out to the accident area
|

What will this month bring? Well amazingly enough plenty of sunshine during the first half of the month and some nice Class 60 workings. Test trains, Stobart train, Class 37 on Sinfin Tanks and more - not a bad month
|

|
 | 1st Dec 2007 to 31st Dec 2007 | Deadly December
Off to a decent start with some interesting workings and in fact throughout the month there were some good workings to be seen and had. The weather though became progressively worse and worse but as someone said to me ' well what do you expect it is December'!

|
 | 1st Oct 2007 to 31st Oct 2007 | Midland Mainline HST's and Meridians

Not a bad month on the whole. Some interesting workings into Brush and 47813 took 58 PGA's off Coalville. Finally nailed a good sunny pic of Grid 56302 at Stenson Junction, while a few sunny shots of 60's on stone and oil trains were grabbed
|
 | 8th Aug 2007 to 10th Aug 2007 | A trip to Edinburgh
Managed to get some images whilst on holiday in Edinburgh with the family. Stayed near Prestonpans so one sunny morning a couple of hours yeilded some good pics. Although actually visiting the Edinburgh Fringe it was too good an opportunity not to fot Waverley Station
|
 | 1st Aug 2007 to 31st Aug 2007 | Awesome August
In a way it was with a number of very interesting workings to Brush Traction including the arrival of DRS 47501 and Cotswold 47714. Managed to photograph a few tugs and the odd stock movement. Silver 67029 on Northern Belle made a couple of appearances in the East Midlands. A better month for sun on the whole but never at the right time!
|
 | 24th Jul 2007 | Derby Station
Called in at Derby Station as the sun had finally come out to play. Power Car 43062 recently named John Armitt and NMT yellow NMT train departed soon after my arrival! Also 57002 stabled on Thunderbird duties at5 north end of station.
|
 | 1st Jul 2007 to 31st Jul 2007 | Joyous July
Well it was an extremely poor month for sun, in fact the worst July on record for heavy rainfall. Managed some sunny shots but it was extremely hard work. The Colnbrook - Lindsey evening tanks made a nice sight in the late evening sunshinel
|
 | 14th Jun 2007 | 47832 in Victa Westlink Rail Livery at Derby

|
 | 1st Jun 2007 to 30th Jun 2007 | Joyful June
The whole of the month brought plenty of rain showers with some sun. The Erewash Valley Blockade started on 10 June 2007 bringing freight to the Derby - Long Eaton line not normally associated with such workings! Nice to see 37688 finally released from Brush Works and at last a pic in the sun of Mainline blue 60044.
